Can I sleep during my treatment?
Dr. Anna Berik is certified in sedation dentistry through the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology.

Will my treatment hurt?
Patient comfort is one of our top goals at Diamond Smile Design. In addition to taking care to make sure each patient is comfortable while receiving treatment, we are prepared to take additional measures for patients who suffer from varying levels of dental phobia. Sedation methods are available to allow patients to sleep through their treatments.

What if I have not been to a dentist in years?
First, congratulations on making the decision to come in for an appointment. That is often the hardest part. At Diamond Smile Design, we treat patients with a variety of dental histories and are prepared to help you achieve and maintain a healthy and attractive smile, regardless of your starting point. During your first visit, our clinical staff will evaluate your needs and desires and help you create a plan fitted specifically to you, whether that is only a cleaning or more treatment with our doctors.

Will I know what my future smile will look like before I begin treatment?
Yes. For patients receiving restorative treatments, our laboratory is able to create wax models of your planned results before we begin restoring your smile. These models are better than computer imagining, which can only give patients and their doctors a two-dimensional preview of treatment outcomes. We have found patients are better able to imagine their results with wax models and identify any concerns before we begin to restore their teeth.

Will I look nice in my temporary restorations?
Yes. Dr. Berik uses an artist’s eye to create beautiful and natural looking temporary crowns and veneers. In some cases, we may also have our laboratory create temporary restorations to ensure your satisfaction.

What if my needs are small?
We are happy to see you. Our office is designed not only to treat patients with severe cosmetic and health concerns but those who only need regular cleanings, exams and occasional treatment as well.

Who will be my dentist after my treatment?
Patients may keep Dr. Berik as their general practitioner after cosmetic treatment is complete or choose from any of the other skilled dentists at Newton Dental Associates. If you are a new patient not in need of cosmetic treatment, our staff can recommend a dentist for you based on your treatment needs and individual personality. Your primary dentist may be changed at any time based on your need or request.

What if I live out of state?
Our staff will work with your schedule to arrange your treatment. This can include grouping together treatments to limit visits to the office. If you have a general dentist at home that you enjoy, you may return to that office for your maintenance needs after your cosmetic treatment at Diamond Smile Design is complete.

What if I have a dental emergency?
A Newton Dental Associate dentist can be reached after hours in the event of a serious dental emergency by calling the office’s main line for an after hours pager or cell phone number. Calls to the on-call dentist are answered promptly.

Do you take my insurance?
Diamond Smile Design, as part of Newton Dental Associates, is part of the preferred provider networks of Delta Dental Premiere of Massachusetts and Blue Cross Blue Shield Dental Blue of Massachusetts. Many other insurance plans also provide various levels of coverage on treatments done at this office. For patient convenience, predeterminations can be sent to determine coverage levels before treatment begins, and for further assistance, we have a financial coordinator on staff to help you plan for the financial aspects of your treatment
